Outlook and .exe files

Why does Microsoft send out e-mails with patches that
are ".exe" files? If you use Outlook for e-mails, Outlook
blocks access to ".exe" files as potentially dangerous.
How does one go about accessing the file? I have searched
Microsofts web site and have been unable to find the
files that have been e-mailed.

This is a virus. Microsoft will NEVER send out patches via email. This is a
virus that is spoofing the from address. This is why they block exe files in
Outlook.

Microsoft never ever sends messages with executables. What you are seeing
is the work of a virus/worm known as Gibe-F or Swen. Just delete and be
thankful that enhanced security protected you from a costly mistake.

PS - FWIW, Microsoft never sends any type of patches for its products
through e-mail.
