outlook and exchange distribution lists

When I send an e-mail to all the users in my division through an exchange
distribution list I also recieve the e-mail due to my name being in the list.
Is there a way to configure either outlook or exchange to not send an e-mail
to the person who originated the e-mail using an exchange distribution.

No, but you could set up a rule to delete any items sent by you to that list.
