I downloaded outlook 2007 beta and now I am recieving error message
referring to extend.dat file. I click ok and the app opens and works. When I
do a search for extend.dat file (hidden folder to) no file can be found on my
system.
Does anybody know what to do?

Open WIndows Explorer and enter the following in the Address field:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

ClickGo. You'll see the extend.dat file there. Apparently you didn't
enable hidden files and folders properly.

# In the 'Named:' box, type I typed the folder name
How do I do in XP. I did go to start-search-advance search -system files
checked-show hidden files checked C-%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook (in search
box)--result no file found.
The result no file found

I'm not sure where to enter the above folder in windows explorer.

I told you exactly where: in the Address field at the top of Windows
Explorer. If you don't have it, right-click the toolbar and check the
"Address Bar" option.
In the pre Xp I believe I used Open the 'Find' program by clicking on
Tools, Find, Files or Folders.

You can also click Start>Run and in the Open field, put the path I gave you.
Click OK to open Windows Explorer in that folder.
