Outlook 2007 won't open

I have a user who cannot open Outlook the 1st time she tries when logging in
in the a.m. It happened to her 2x. She clicks the icon, the hourglass
spins, then nothing happens. When she restarts her PC, it opens just fine
(no delays). It only just started happening Friday. There are no error
messages - the program just doesn't open. We are not aware of any issues
when she closes the program and shuts down the prior evening (technically,
she restarts, but leaves the PC at the login screen until the next morning
when she simply logs in so that her PC can get Windows and anti-virus updates
during the night). Some evenings, when she restarts her PC, she gets a
message that WMS ST Notif Win cannot close and she has to click "end now" for
the PC to continue shutting down.

We are running Outlook 2007 on WinXP. This particular user has it set up so
PCLaw opens upon start-up (PCLaw is our accounting program, and there are
plug-ins between Outlook and PCLaw.) We log into a MS Exchange server
(2003). To the best of my knowledge, she has no other programs set to
automatically open at start up.

Thanks!

Is Outlook perhaps running in the Task Manager > Processes even though it
looks as though it's not?
