Outlook 2007 won't open

My Outlook 2007 won't open. I've tried opening it from the start menu and
then from run. It looks like it's trying to open (spinning circle) then
nothing. Other Office apps open fine. Have done a hard reboot/power cycle. No
luck. Any suggestions?

I have the exact problem. I didn't have a problem for months. It may be a
coincidence but I just set up Outlook for a second user on Vista. After the
second user opened it to check her email, I now get my messages incoming but
only the first one keeps loading over and over. The program has an error
message then my only option is to close. I have no other options. Any help
for a novice computer user?

-I have the same problem. I ran diagnostics that fixed some setup problems
but ran clean otherwise. Tried to start Outlook 2007 from various places
without success. Absolutely nothing happens. All other Office 2007 products
work fine. -
Keep smiling ...

OK, after the last time I updated this post I tried what was suggested about
a new profile by Diane Paremsky without success i.e. Outlook would not start.
I then went to Control Panel Add or Remove programs and did a repair on
Microsoft Office 2007.
After an eternity and a reboot Outlook worked. I hate that.

Today, however, this happened again ... or rather Outlook start did not
happen again. I looked at Application events, System events, Microsoft Office
Outlook 12 events and could not see anything of consequence.
I again tried to start it from various shortcuts and eventually out of
"Program Files/Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE" WITHOUT SUCCESS !!!
I then decided I had nothing to loose, so, from Task Manager Processes under
Image Name OUTLOOK.EXE I "process ended" the Outlook process and ... Lo and
Behold Outlook 2007 started.
It would appear that the process gets clobbered somehow either by MS Office
code or other nasty vendor code.
All that is left is to determine who is the nasty software damaging my
Outlook 2007 code.
I hope this will help other people suffering this affliction.
If anyone knows how to set a trap for a storage overlay please let me know.

This has been a progressive issue over the past 3 weeks, culminating in
outlook not opening at all.

1st I couldn't open my task folder at all, any time I tried, it would crash.
Then I couldn't print a daily calendar if it showed tasks. Once I removed
tasks from the print set up, it worked.
Next I could no longer access my contact folders, any time I tried, it would
crash.
Today, while attempting to access my tasks in alternate ways, it crashed and
has not been accessible since. It will not open in safe mode.

It sends error reports, it runs repair and detect and nothing ever comes up.

I have tried the new profile as suggested.
I have tried uninstalling
I have tried reinstalling
I have tried running scnost
I have tried running repair
I have deleted acrobat
I have deleted the dell media center
I've run registry clean ups.
I've deleted recent applicable updates
I have even tried a system restore to a previous date but it will not work.

In all instances I get messages that outlook is installed and configured.
When I try to open outlook, I can see it, and see my folders. My exchange
log in window pops up momentarily only to be taken over by the Microsoft
Office is not working message where it tells me that it is searching for a
solution.

I have read about similar issues all over the place and not once have I seen
an actual Microsoft response to it. As with many of the others, it worked
fine for about a year (an upgrade from 03) until this.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I cannot disable plugins as I
can't open in safe mode.

It is an enterprise version, I am using an exchange server and am also
downloading a second email that is not through the exchange server. Until
the tasks started getting hinky, I have had no other issues with this set up.
I have Vista.

For Office Enterprise issues see the following. Support on this version is only
available from MS or your IT Department and we cannot help you here with the Office
Enterprise version.

Sorry but we do not know if it is Pirated or not. You should have gotten these
instructions as above on your Home Program purchase from your Company

The support for Office 2007 Enterprise is free and look and open

Here you will find the Phone numbers and email addresses as to where and whom to

I have the same issue with a number of my users and the frig mentioned above
works but is not an acceptable solution for non technical users.

It is not an enterprise version so there is very little support from
Microsoft any idea when a fix will be available as this seems to be a fault
that hasd been known about for some months.
