sINCE PURCHASING A NEW SYSTEM WITH VISTA AND OFFICE 2007 OUTLOOK WILL NOT
WORK. I DOWNLOADED AND INSTALLED OUTLOOK CONNECTOR - STILL WON'T WORK!
oFFICE 2007 WORKS FINE ON XP BUT NOT VISTA. OUTLOOK WILL NOT START, CONTINUE
TO RECEIVE CAN NOT LOG ON TO SERVER AND CAN NOT OPEN DEFAULT EMAILL FOLDER.
IT WILL ALSO NOT ALLOW OFF LINE WORK. IT WILL ALSO NOT VALIDATGE MY EMAIL
ADDRESS AND USER NAME WHEN PROMPTED TO ENTER IT. THEN IT SHUTS DOWN.

I'VE SPOKE TO OTHERS WHO HAVE VISTA AND OFFICE 2007 ANDC THEY HAVE THE SAME
PROBLEM.

OF COURSE I CAN NOT RETURN THE SOFTWARE FOR A REFUND.

CAN THIS BE FIXED.

Office 2007 runs just fine under Vista, I'm using both on the machine I'm
typing this post with. What kind of account?

Thanks Hal. I have a MSN and also a Hot Mail account. It works fine on
another computer running XP. No problems except on the VISTA system.

I receive the following message:

Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are
using the proper server and mailbox name. The connection to Microsoft
Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete
this action.

I sety up Windows Live Mail and it works fine. Nothing seems to work with
outlook and VISTA.

Cheers,

Koyangie

Neither MSN nor Hotmail use Exchange Servers and the message tells me you
have the Exchange Server service in your Outlook profile. Your best bet
here is to create a new Outlook profile and make sure the Exchange Server
service is NOT added to it. You might be able to get rid of this service
from 'Tools|Account Settings', but it may not let you.

Sorry Hal, I am having the same Koyangie is having. I have contacted MSN and
Microsoft and they are both baffled and pointing the finger at each other.
One specialist is looking into. I have 4 computers and 2 with XP and Outlook
2003 (no problem). Vista and Outlook 2003 (No problem). Vista and Outlook
2007 (BIG PROBLEM). Will let you know they MSN and Microsoft say.

Koyangie,

Thank you for your post. I am not sure if I am having the same problem that
you are, but if you have time to read the post I posted on the Office Live
Community Site and verify if it sounds like we are having the same problem, I
would greatly appreciate it. You may have already solved the problem, but I
have been searching for hours and days trying to find if anyone else is
having a problem similar but I am not finding many using Vista, with Outlook
2007, and Outlook Connecter. Surprisingly, not even the Microsoft Office Live
tech support I appreciate so much currently runs it on any of their
computers. So without verification it is hard to go further, and If they are
not willing to run it, I am feeling a bit lost as to who to turn to help
verify to what decree this problem truly exits and what its possible cause
and solution if any can be. If our problem is the same, just to let you know,
I am in this with you and fast looking for a solution. Verification if the
problem sounds like the same would be helpful, you can find my post at
http://myofficelivecommunity.com/discuss/forums/t/7176.aspx .

Thanking you in advance,

Brian K. Woytovich (Treebreeze)

PS After rereading your post, just before posting my comment above, and
further noticing the comments you posted a bit later, I think I may have a
solution if you’re not having the same problem as I am having, and if you
have not fixed it yet, but I will wait to see if I hear back from you after
this post, and am informed of your current status. Then I will post a further
response.
