Outlook 2007 Unread Message Count IMAP

I just installed the Office 2007 trial. I was using Outlook 2003, and
upgraded to Outlook 2007. I use Outlook to check about 3 different
IMAP accounts. I have the send and receive set to check for new mail
immediately upon opening the program. It checks the mail fine, but
Outlook 2007 does not bold my INBOX folders under the favorites
section with the new unread mail count. I have to click on the folder
for it to update the unread count. It was working fine in Outlook
2003, does anybody know what changed with Outlook 2007? Is there a
new setting somewhere that I need to select?

Thanks,
Jeff

I went ahead and wiped out the profile and created a new one. Still,
when I do a send and receive upon first opening up Outlook, it does
not show me the unread message count for my Favorite folders unless I
click on the folder. The send/receive settings are set to update the
unread message count in all subscribed folders.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

Same problem here. Well it seems like that Outlook 2007 is updating the
folders correctly, I know that because when I start Outlook nothing seems to
happen in these IMAP folders, however when you fold out (using the +) the
unread items are mentioned there. It seems like that the favorite folders do
not get updated correctly.

When you open Outlook, you have to switch once to all your IMAP accounts
(switching to one folder in each is sufficient). After you did that,
Outlook will show the unread counts correctly for the rest of the time
it is open.
Basically 2007 doesn't open each IMAP store until you manually do so.
You could write a VBA script to do this for you.

Sorry,

I am not very good with VBA, would you be able to point in the right
direction?

I was a beta tester for Office 2007, and it did display the unread
message count when first opened up all the way through the beta until
the RTM. So, Microsoft changed something at the last minute. And, it
does display the message count in Outlook 2003.

Sorry, not my thing either (at least with Outlook).

There were a bunch of things that worked fine in B2TR, but somehow ended
up mangled in the RTM build...

Thank you for the help and information. I will see what I can find
out in regards to doing some sort of VBA script in Outlook. Hopefully
they will fix it in a future Service Pack.
