Outlook 2007 still very sluggish even with performance patch.

Outlook 2007 is very sluggish on my machine. It takes 4 to 5 minutes
for outlook to become usuable after I execute the application. When
first creating a new message there is a fairly significant lag between
typing and the words appearing on the screen. I have disabled all add-
ins and installed all the updates for outlook. I have deleted all the
large emails, over 100mbs worth, and archived several thousands emails
yet my .pst file was only reduced by a 20 - 30 mbs. Is this not also
strange? Any ideas on how I can get this to run fasters? I have an
older machine with only a 1.33ghz Athlon and 768mb of RAM. I believe
part of the problem is that its an older computer but not the whole
problem because the rest of Office 2007 Small Bussiness runs
smoothly. Any ideas to help me with this?

Leave your system on for a few days so that the index files may be created.

I have small PSTs and no indexing issues. I have a 2GB 4800 x2 PC and
Outlook 2007 can still be sluggish. Oh, I have the 'performance' patch
installed which did nothing here.

The biggest wait for me here is clicking on a link in an email. Even
if my browser is open, it takes > 60 secs for the page to be
displayed; subsequent clicks are instantaneous.

Guy
