Outlook 2007 send/receive error

D

diverbill

Using Win XP-Pro. Was using Outlook Express for email. Installed Outlook 2007
this morning and imported addresses and files from Express. Everything seemed
to work fine until I attempted to send/receive. Got error message
(0x8007000E) "out of memory or system resources". Cleaned off all extraneous
files and significantly reduced folder storage amounts. Have run all
diagnostics that I can find with no problems identified. Have checked my
internet connections and everythng worked fine. Problem seems to be with
Outlook. Would appreciate any suggestions for correction of problem.

How big is the .pst file? Is this a new installation of Outlook or an
upgrade?

Milly,
It is a new installation - replacing Outlook Express. The .pst file is just
under 20Mb.

Have you tried running Office Diagnostics?

Have run diagnostics (twice) & everything on my PC checks out. Reportedly one
repair (not specified) was made to an Office product (not specified) which
should allow my program to work better. Not so much, still have same problem.
Backed up my personal folders and Uninstalled Outlook. Reinstalled, to no
avail. still have same problem. Have again run repair tool on internet
connection and it works fine.

I'm new to this discussion group thing and I don't really understand how it
all works. Please forgive me if I appear impatient or frustrated. I've wasted
two days of my life that I can never get back trying to get a simple plug and
play program to fuction as it should. I haven't seen any postings regrading
my problem in a day or so and what did appear didn't really help. My
questions are as follows:
Did I stumble onto a new and previously undiscovered issue with Outlook?
Is this all I can expect to get in the way of help with this issue?

I'm new to this discussion group thing and I don't really understand how
it
all works.

We're a collection of users of Outlook talking to other users of Outlook.
None of us work for Microsoft, although some of us have some, ususally
small, measure of access to the Outlook team. If we have the time to read
the newsgroup and we have a suggestion, we make it. It can be minutes or
days before someone posts a response.

Thank you for explaining that for me.
In the hope of reducing the frustration and wasted time of another
unfortunate soul working in the dark to unravel this same mystery, I will
pass on the solution to my problem which I just learned.

Create a new profile. Write down e-mail account setings from your Outlook
07. click Start then, in classic view, dbl click Mail icon. Click E-mail
accounts. Highlight Default e-mail accounts then click Change. Note down the
account setings (incoming and outgoing servers). Click More Settings & note
down the port numbers. Close account settings and close outlook.

Click Start, Control Panel and dbl click E-mail. Click Show Profiles. Click
Add. In new profile box type name for new profile and click Okay. In Email
Accts box click New then Next. Select appropriate server type for your email
acct then click Next. Fill in appropriate data as prompted then click Next
and Finish as needed.

Click the Prompt for Profile button to be used option and click Okay. This
way you will be prompted for a profile when starting Outlook. Restart Outlook
and click New Profile. My problem was no longer there. Life is good (for the
time being). If your problem is fixed the next step is to import the backed
up .pst files into outlook. Good Luck
