Outlook 2007 "Permissions Error" after Updgrade to VISTA ultimate

Upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XPPro.
Upgrade Advisor had not issues with Outlook 2007.

AFter upgrade, Click "SEND=RECEIVE" receive this red X box error

"You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation"

MS Office Diagnostics found no issue.
Deleted and ReCreated The Email Account.
The Outlook.pst file is still there and intact. It's just the send/receive
doesnt work
and yields the above error. Nothing found in Knowledge Database for Outlook
and That Error.


Any suggestions...?

Hi Brian

Check the location of your PST file is somewhere you can write to. (Try
creating a .txt file in the same folder.) If not, copy your PST to somewhere
under c:\Users\YourName - your My Documents folder would be ideal.

I say Copy (not move) because moving a file can bring the old permissions
with it. When you've set Outlook up to use the new file and you're happy
it's all working properly you can delete the old one.

Tried this. Copies to several different places and tried. Still same error.
Even created new Outlook.pst and imported old mail. Still same error.

do you have antispam or antivirus scanning email?

did you try deleting the *.srs file? if you created a new profile using a
new name, it would make a new srs, but if you redid your profile using the
same name, you are probably using the old one.

If the srs file is not the cause, copy the dialog and post it here in it's
entirety. Most dialogs are copyable - click on the text area and press
Ctrl+C then paste the text here.

Diane,

I had exacelty the same problems as Brian. By trying to find the srs
folder (thanks for the link - it helped), I found that (as usual) I
had to grant myself permission to open the > Roaming > Microsoft >
Outlook folder. I thought his might help with the problem, soreturned
to Outlook and was able to Send/Receive OK. The permissions in Vista
give me the (are very frustrating).
