Well I have figured it out, but I am not impressed.
Is there any way that I can see if a sender of a certain email residing in
the inbox list up, is presently online?

If you have the Show Status turned on when you select the e-mail message
you'll see a little green "gumball" next to their name if they are.

Of course that assumes this person is one of your messenger contacts and
that their presence status is accurate (which is a HUGE assumption).
