Outlook 2007 duplicated Tasks after downloading Backup add on

Yesterday I downloaded the Outlook Backup add on to my laptop and I ran a
backup and successfully saved the backup pst to an external drive. Today my
Tasks are all showing duplicated. Contacts and emails are OK. I deleted one
specific task and both occurrences deleted. Any idea on how to clean up my
Tasks??

I found out how to correct problem. With the "Mail" option selected in the
bottom left hand corner of your
Outlook screen (options are: Mail, Calender, Contacts, Tasks), the left hand
display column should show the "Mail Folders". This is were you should see
the 'Personal Folders." Your Personal Folder holds other folders such as:
deleted items, drafts, inbox, outbox, etc. At some point I noticed that an
identical personal folder was listed. All the information was the same in
each one. I didn't know why and was cautious about deleting it. As best as
I can figure, I thought that installing the personal folder backup for
outlook had caused it. Anyhow, I selected it by right clicking, and chose to
"close" the folder. I hope this helps you because I never found anything or
anyone to help me solve this problem. Good Luck!

Hello nikkobluefish,

Thanks for the replies. I too struggled to find a solution. The personal
folders backup instructions that came with the Microsoft backup download
appears to tell a person to use a default folder name and path and that puts
the backup folder in the same area as the regular production personal folders
for Outlook. Once the backup folder was moved out of that path progress was
made and finally got the tasks back to a normal mode. Is your situation now
fixed to your satisfaction??
