Outlook 2007 Crashes and is Unstable with IMAP

I do not recall outlook ever crashing in the 10+ years that I have been using
it with a POP email account. With a new IMAP email account it has crashed 4x
in 1-1/2 weeks.

Repeatedly throughout the day a message pops up telling me that the UID of a
message is different or has changed.

The other day upon starting up, outlook labored for 4 hours redownloading my
entire inbox contents, 3000+ emails, while locking me out. It was a nail
biter to see if my email history would be there.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

IMAP e-mail with Outlook 2007 now works very well with the following changes:

I uninstalled Cloudmark Spamnet and installed Norton Internet security 2010.

I moved all of my e-mail contents from the inbox and sent items folder to a
temporary folder, and then back again. This eliminated all of the UID error
messages that I was receiving.
