Outlook 2007 automatically purging deleted IMAP messages

Hi, I have set up an IMAP account in Outlook 2007, and have de-selected the
setting for Outlook to automatically purge my deleted messages when switching
folders. I would like to be able to purge at my leisure (so I can go back
through my deleted messages to make sure I definitely want them deleted), and
instead everytime I logon in the morning, all the messages I had chosen for
deletion are gone (have been automatically purged). How do I prevent this
from happening?

Thanks,

Anna

The first thing I'd do in your situation is to make sure there's no process
on the server doing the purge.

Hi Brian,

My server is a University email account that I've been using for 2 years,
and has never automatically deleted my trash bin. So there is no process on
the server that has the command to purge the deleted files.... any other
suggestions?
