Outlook 2007 - After sending a message, copy doesn't go to Sent It

B

I've had and used my Outlook 2007 for 2+ years, running on Vista. Just last
night I sent several messages, same way I always do, and they got sent to my
recipients, but my copies didn't get saved in Sent Items folder, like they
always do. I've rebooted several times, but problem persists. Why, and how
do I correct the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help

Diane,

Thank you very much for your responding. In answer to your questions, my
email is a POP/SMTP account. I have set no Rule to send my "sent messages"
to any folder different from the default folder (which is "Sent Items"
folder, correct?). I write an email (as always), press Send/Receive (as
always), and Outlook says it is "sending/receiving", but no copy in my Sent
Items folder!??

I haven't deliberately changed anything, and I don't think I accidently
pushed any keys to trigger anything. Any thoughts?

What type of email account? What folder are the original messages in? Are
you using Rules to save sent messages in a different folder?

go to tools, options, email options - is save sent items checked? If it is,
uncheck, apply, recheck it.

OK. I faced the same problem with my outlook 2007 using an MS Exchange server.
The fix I used is:
1. Click on the "Sent Items" folder.
2. Go to "View" --> "Current View" and ensure that the "Messages" is ticked

One more issue could be that the Sent Items folder has a size of "0". This also prevents saving sent items.
You can resolve this by:
1. Right Click on the "Sent Items" folder.
2. Go to "Properties" --> "General" tab and ensure that the "Size" is "NOT 0"

Hopefully, now you can see the sent items folder.
