Outlook 2003-Why 2 Personal folders

Coop

I installed XP Pro and Office 2003. Immediately after the Office 2003
install, I renamed outlook.pst and extend.dat, and copied those two
files from my old Outlook 2000 installation. Now I have 2 "Personal
Folder" within "All Mail Folders"? But I wouldn't think just renaming
the new files and copying my old one's would cause me to now have two
Personal Folders. One Personal Folder has an little house in it's
icon. The other Personal folder just has nested file folders in it's
icon. I assume the first one is the default Personal Folders folder.
I want to get rid of the second Personal Folder. I tried to delete it
but was unable to. Can anyone help? BTW, there is only one
outlook.pst data file defined anywhere in OL2003 mail properties.

Thanks,
Coop

1) extend.dat contains information about installed addins. Delete it.
2) it sounds like you have a ghost pst - you need to either edit the
registry or create a new profile. A new profile is generally easier.

And that's why you have a ghost folder. New profile time.

It's cleaned up now. Thanks!
