Outlook 2003 send failure

Hi, thanks for taking your time on this.

I keep experiencing a problem sending emails in Outlook
2003. I'm not sure, but it seems related to attachments.
Here's the error messge:

Task 'mail.comcast.net - Sending' reported error
(0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a
response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

My ISP doesn't support Outlook, so no help there. MS
support shows a service pack fix for this error but
that's for Outlook 2002, so it's included in 2003.

I recently uninstalled Norton A/V and firewall and wonder
if that could be a problem?

Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.

Did you recently *install* Norton A/V or *uninstall* it as you say? Many
times the problem your hitting is caused by anti-virus software.

Thanks for the reply.

I used the OEM uninstall procedure from Symantec's
website. I removed several keys from the registry as
well.

I can send emails with small or no attachments, but
nothing with large (i.e., 2mb) files. I can send same
email with large attachments with OE.

What can this be?
