Outlook 2003 Reminder

I recently upgraded from Outlook 2000 to 2003. I can't figure out why a
reminder box pops up when emails come from certain people. I can't find
where I have any of the contacts marked to show a reminder or anything. I
found a post that told how to run "clean reminders", I followed that, but the
reminders are still popping up. Please help me to get this to stop, it's
driving me crazy.

Are they reminders or desktop alerts? Those are different.
