Outlook 2003 - reading old faxes received as Microsoft Fax *.awd e

I've added my old personal folders to Outlook 2003 which contain a huge
number of faxes received with Microsoft at Work/Microsoft Fax via Outlook 97.
I've just upgraded pc & system to Windows XP. What can I do to view these
faxes, or at least quickly archive to a readable format.

thanks Russ, I've noticed you have provided this answer to someone else.
Unfortunately, these days to make life simple for OEM's some machines are
being shipped without Windows XP CD's and depending on service agreements the
partitioned drives are difficult to get to. The best answer I found was to
load the faxview.exe and associated files from win 95 - works a charm, really
simple and don't have to convert any (or years worth of) faxes, can just open
from within outlook. The detail of which files to load are

awcodc32.dll
awdcxc32.dll
awresx32.dll
awview32.dll
mfc30.dll
mfco30.dll
mfcans32.dll
mfcuia32.dll
faxview.exe

The reason I don't recommend that method is that it has variable success and
has no workarounds since there were some licensing issues precluding
installing that software on later Windows versions.
