Outlook 2003 Program Change Computers

I use Outlook 2000 (with Windows XP). My daughter has Outlook 2003 which
she got when she bought her computer but has never used the program, and has
no need for it. Can she give me the Program CD so I can install it on my
computer, and uninstall it on her computer. Assuming we can do this, can
this be done and then I guess I can then notify Microsoft what we have done?

The answer depends on how your daughter purchased Office 2003 (I assume
she has the full Office and not just stand-alone Outlook).

If Office 2003 came installed on her PC from the vendor, that would mean
it is an OEM version. OEM versions cannot be moved to another PC...it
*must* remain on the PC it was originally purchased for/with. It "dies"
even if you toss out the PC. It would be a violation of the license
agreement to install it on your PC.

But if your daughter purchase Office 2003 separately (i.e. a retail
version from CompUSA or Amazon, for example), then, yes, you can
uninstall it from her PC and install it on yours.
