Outlook 2003 email merge error

I can get clear through the merge process up until I'm ready to actually
"merge" the e-mail to send it -- I get "mapi32.dll is an invalid Extended
MAPI Library" and the next error box says "MAIL is not installed on your
system." What does this mean and how do I correct. I'm using Outlook
through XP 2003 Server Edition.

Is Outlook set as your default mail program? Check in Internet Explorer --
Tools | Internet Options | Programs.
