Outlook 2003 doesn't filter junk E-Mails

P

Pierluigi

Hi all,

my Outlook 2003 Junk Mail Filter stopped working.

After doing a few researches, I found out that it could be caused by the
Expression Web Trial I tried to install without success.

Is there a way to restore Outlook junk mail filtering functionalities?

I tried the:

Uninstall of the last *few* junk mail updates.

Set the filtering to none and back to high.

Office "Detect and repair".

The outlook spy.

All help is highly appreciated.

Thanks In advance

Pierluigi

thanks for the hint, but also that one didn't work... there is no
junk mail folder at all.

I don't see how that's possible. What view are you using? Try running
Outlook once withe the /resetfolders command line switch.
"MS... can you please at least tell that you are working on it?
I see that I'm not the only one with such a problem. :)"

Microsoft employees rarely read or respoond to this list. You can't contact
Microsoft by posting in this newsgroup.

I am having the same problem.

Yesterday I installed the OneNote 2007 Trial and renewed by Symantec
Anti-Virus Subscription. I noticed a little bit later that day that junk
mail was no longer being filtered at all.

I installed Outlook Spy, selected my inbox, selected the ImapiFolder button,
selected associated content and there is no Junk Email Rule. I cannot delete
it.

I restart Outlook with the /resetfolders tab as well. It is still not
working.

I created a new profile, setup two email addresses that I know were
receiving junk, and new messages arived but the junk folder did not work
there either.

Any ideas?

Since OneNote is a different product than Outlook, I suggest you ask in
news://microsoft.public.onenote . I have set the followup to that
newsgroup.

Brian (all),

I believe I must have been unclear. My problem is with Outlook's Junk
E-mail folder. Two days ago, it worked fine. Now, nothing is filtered.

The problem is not with OneNote - or its functionality per se. I was simply
indicating that the two changes I made prior to this problem surfacing were

1) installing OneNote 2007 Trial
2) updating my subscription to Norton Anti-virus

To be honest, I can't remember which one happened first.

I don't know but I don't believe this post should go to the OneNote
discussion. It is definately a problem with Outlook.

My concern is that when installing Outlook Spy and following the steps on
the link you provided, I do not see the Outlook Junk Mail rule as indicated
on the Outlook Spy instruction page.

If Outlook Spy doesn't help, have you tried a Detect and Repair? How about
a new mail profile?

I am ashamed to say that I didn't try detect and repair. I had created a new
profile - with no luck but detect and repair seems to have worked.

At least on the new profile - where I moved one of my more notoriusly
spammed addresses. I am waiting for some spam to my regular, daily address.

Thanks.
