Outlook 2003 calendar function inoperable.

Suddenly today my calendar function on MS Outlook 2003 just quit working. I
can bring it up but cannot create a new apponitment either by double clicking
the time when I want to create an appt or by highlighting "New Appt". I
downloaded the latest upgrades and restarted, but to no avail. Has anyone
seen this?
