THis has been tackled before on this forum, I have searched but could not find a solution for my problem. Just migrated from OE6 (with its briliant autocompltete features), now I want to know why my autocompl feature in OL2003 not working. Tools>Options>Pref>Email Options>Advance Email Optios>check atuo name compl, check suggest names..
Am I missing something here? Does autocomplte not look in my address book to see if that name appears to help me from retyping the whole name/email?? I do I make it do that
Many Thanx

How do you know it doesn't work? How many messages have you sent?
Autocomplete uses a cache of names taken from messages you've sent, not your
Contacts data.

Autoresolution uses the address book. Autocompletion uses the names cache.
Autoresolution is the automatic name checking feature that Outlook has
always had. If you enter part of a name or a nickname then tab out of the
field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook will attempt to resolve the name
against your address book. If it can't it'll red underline it and you can
right click on the name to manually resolve it. Outlook will save the
resolution for future use.

I've never used OE. I have no idea what it does.

I have encountered a similar problem. My autocomplete was
working after migrating from 2000 for 2 months. It
suddenly stoped working last week.

Checked Tools>Options>Pref>Email Options>Advance Email
Optios>, and found "Suggest names while completing..." was
unchecked. However, it could not be turned on agains since
the whole secction of "When sending a message"
in "Advanced-mail option" is complelete dimed.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

Many Thanks,

John

Upgrade from your 2000, many many mysterious problems.
If you think there's info. in your autocomplete file and
want to open it to view or edit it, you can find a
utility at www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm I think it
sells for around $20 bucks.

Good luck!
