Outlook 2003 auto-deletes occasional new unread emails

Have no Outlook View filters or spam rules set but, during a send/receive,
Outlook 2003 occasionally auto-transfers (i.e. without my dragging it) a few
newly received & unread emails to Deleted Items folder (from which i can
easily recover them IF I notice).

It never deletes all the messages; just occasional ones and this never
happens to spam email but only to emails I wish to keep! It happens about 5%
of all send/receives. My initial s/r process is set to Descriptions only so
this only happens to occasional msgs which I have selected for download.

Any ideas why, and what i can do about it? My Win 2K/Outlook 2003 is fully
updated.

Sory about the delay; for an ordinary POP account. Thank you for asking.
