Outlook 2003 annoyance

I am getting an irritating pop-up every time I am receiving an
attachment with the same name. A dialog box with the caption "
Overwrite Warning! "is popping up:

" A file named xxxx.yyy already exists or is not writable! Please
choose how to handle it. "

Now there are four choices presented, including one for auto name
assignment.

This would be all acceptable so far, except:

1. Auto name assignment is not "sticky", and I could not find any
place to make this the default behavior.

2. Because I can't set defaults, all mail processing is halted until
I click a radio button, preventing off-hours e-mail retrieval and spam
filtering

3. You should think that threading is implemented, because the dialog
box is not "modal" -- with other words it can be put in the background
window -- but if I want to save an attachment from an other email, I
am not able to do it until I find the (now) hidden window and click
OK.

This behavior is particularly annoying because I am getting a large
amounts of emails which are formatted using tables, and the place
holder image is usually called image001.gif etc..., making this
condition a constant in my Outlook 2003.

Interestingly, I could not find any reference for this condition
neither on Google nor on Microsoft.com. I am just wondering if I am
the only one who is affected.

Greetings,

Does it give you a file path or any other information? The warning message
isn't what I get when I open an attachment from the second (or third) time
and a copy is already in the secure temp folder, which leads me to think
it's something else. Plus outlook normally increments filenames up to 99 in
the secure temp folder. If the file path ends in OLK?? where ?? is a set of
numbers, then it might be a related issue.

Do you have any addins installed? Especially ones that may process
attachments.
