Outlook 2002 Toolbar Button point to wrong folder

I open my session in Outlook 2002 with a few Personal Folders files open in
the Folder List.
I added an 'Inbox' button to my Advanced Toobar using the Toolbar/Customize
feature. It properly connects to my default Personal Folder Inbox (in
Personal Folders 4).
I added a 'Notes' button, using the Toolbar/Customize feature, and it
connects me to a Notes folder in a Personal Folders file down the list (in
Personal Folders 2). I made sure the preferred target folder was open when I
added the button, and that didn't help.
How can I get the 'Notes' button to point to the right Notes folder?
Thanks.

Your default folders are whatever ones are in the PST in the "Delivery new
e-mail to the following location" drop-down at Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next.
Which PST is it?

Brian,

Thanks for your reply.

That's the problem. The default PST (listed in "Deliver new e-mail to the
following location" drop-down at Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next), is Personal
Folders 4. It has its own Notes folder

The Notes folder that is attached by the Notes button is in an older PST,
Personal Folders 2, one that I keep open for referring to past e-mails. I
don't know why the Notes button attached itself to that older one.

Did that clarify my situation? How do I re-direct the Notes button to the
default PST.

Thanks, again, for your help.

The Notes view of the Navigation Pane (reached by clicking the Notes button or
pressing Ctrl-5) should show ALL of the folders that contain Notes items that
are in your current mail profile.

Brian,

Thanks for your note.

I created a new PST, copied the data from the existing default PST to the
new one, and made the new one the default.

All seems to work now.

Thanks, again.
