Are you leaving it open all day? How frequently are you checking for new
mail? Any more frequently than 8 -10 min can lock up it up.

Have you tried detect and repair? (look under the Help menu)

You can also try creating a new mail profile if this does not help.

I do not leave it open but do check it or send an receive probably more than
8 times a day. so you are thinking I will just have to live with it? I use
it at work and do need to check it often for new messages.

As long as you don't check for new mail more often than every 10 min, it
should not lock up.

What version of windows?
Did you try running outlook in safe mode? Close outlook, at start menu run,
type
outlook.exe /safe

window xp version 5.1

I will try in safe mode. I don't think I check more often than 10 minutes
but will make an effort to keep an eye on it.

thanks
