Outlook 2002 - can't send/receive POP3 account

Can't send/receive from Outlook through POP3 Account.
Email Accounts setup is o.k., (POP3 address both outgoing
and incoming, password, user name, email address all
o.k). Can access Internet without any problems(Explorer
6).

Have uninstalled, reinstalled Office XP and setup/checked
email accounts again (I use Earthlink and they advised me
this could be the solution). Is it possible the
registration key for send/receive could be
corrupted/damaged? If that's not it, what could be the
problem and how can it be resolved?

Thanks.

Do you get an error? If so what?

I am having the same error with 2003. I have a new machine and it came with Outlook Express installed. I purchased the Office suite and installed it. I am able to send messages. When it attempts to receive I get the following erro

When I ran the 'test account settings' it was not a ble to log me in because the server rejected my name and password. All works fine in my Express. And I checked the setting and they match in both. I get the following error

"Your mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. The server responded -ERR invalid user name or password'"
