outlook 2000

Hope someone can help with this problem. I bought a new puter with XP home
and am trying to install Outlook 2000. All my other Office progs work well,
but Outlook won't. When I try to import or export it insists on reinstalling
the import/export engine each time and it will not allow me in to customise
the Outlook today page. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all to no avail.
I removed my mail accounts and work offline, closed all other progs and run
repair, but still no joy. HELP!!!
TIA
chris

Checked out the links and fixed the problem

An extra note. There's never a need to export to or import from a PST with
Outlook. You lose data that way. To make a copy of the PST, just have
Outlook closed and use Windows to make the copy. To access an existing PST,
use Outlook and click File>Open>Personal Folders File or Outlook Data FIle,
depending on version. You'd use the former. This makes the contents of the
PST available exactly as it was and you can move it around as you see fit
with no data loss.
