Outlook 2000 won't start

I have installed MS Office 2000 on my new laptop. Outlook will not start. the
other office application seem ok. When i try to start outlook it gives a
message that outlook has encountered a problem and has to close. I do not use
outlook for e-mail
During the MS Office installation I got a message "unable to access
configuraqtion for MS personal web server" then MS office completed
successfully. I have tried a repair of office but it didn't help. This PC has
Mcafee security centre but I have turned off the spam killer and everything
except virus check. I don't mind removing McAfee completely if that will
solve the problem

So how did you configure Outlook then if you are not using it for e-mail?
During installation did you choose for "no-email"?

Did you already apply all updates to Office?
Also, what is being logged to the Event Viewer?

Alright, good luck! McAfee might be confused because of the "no-email"
configuration ;-)

Thanks Robert I will check the event viewer to see what was posted. I
think I
got Outlook to work now. I uninstalled Office 2000, then uninstalled
McAfee
Security centre, reinstalled Office 2000 and outlook worked. I am thinking
McAfee maybe.
I installed & plan to use a different Anti- Virus program
