Outlook 2000 update error

I downloaded required security updates for Outlook 2000. When I open outlook
I get the following message: "A program is trying to access e-mail addresses
you have stored in Outlook"

The MS knowledge base article is 263074 relating to this but IT GIVES NO FIX
TO THE PROBLEM.

Is there a remedy for this?

There is no fix for this problem. Starting with Service Pack 2 for
Office/Outlook 2000, this security enhancement was introduced to stop bad
people from taking advantage of Outlook to read your address book and mass
mailing out virus/spam to others w/out your knowledge. There is no option
to turn it off.

The trick is to figure out what is triggering it and then go from there
(e.g. If 3rd party app that does PDA, Fax, .etc, see if vendor has an update
that makes it compliant with Outlook's security enhancements. If In-house
application, update application accordingly.).
