Outlook 2000 unmarked read items in Public Folders 2003

I have several clients connecting to a Public Folder (Exchange 2003) and when
one of the users read a mail it is not being marked as unread as displayed
for other used also access the mailbox. The Public Folder is mail enabled
and has one replica on 1 server.

Is the folder properties set to maintain per-user read status? You need to
look at the folder properties using ESM.
