Outlook 2000 & Norton Antivirus hog CPU

J

JohnKlein

Win XP Pro, Outlook 2000, Norton SystemWorks 2004.
Outlook will consume all the CPU it can for hours on end.
Sometimes it stops. Otherwise it's hard to get work
done. If I close Outlook, the CPU's fine. IF I remove
Norton SystemWorks and run Outlook, the CPU's fine. The
Outlook.PST file is only 82MB, so it shouldn't take hours
to scan the whole thing, should it? I'm not receiving e-
mails during this CPU overusage - it's just sitting there,
hogging the CPU.

Any ida what's going on?

John

I should have mentioned that - no, it doesn't help a bit.
