Outlook 2000 Hangs while closing

I have Outlook 2000 running on a mix of of Win2k Pro and Win XP Pro SP1
workstation. I have some clients that when they go to close Outlook, it
hangs on the screen "Please wait while Outlook closes" and it never goes
away until you kill it in task manager. I found one document on the support
site telling me to load Office 2000 SP3. I downloaded it and tried to
install it on a number of different machines but all come back with a
message "Update can not be applied" for no rhyme or reason. Any help would
be greatly appreciated
