Outlines: What comes after Z in an outline?

I am helping a friend with a paper. She has used 29 subjects under one topic,
resulting in the outlining to reach "Z." What should I use next?

The problem I am running into is that, I tried "AA.", but MS Word indents
the text next to this by an inch. Whereas the text next to the "Z." is only
indented a few spaces (about 1/4 of an inch).
And, "BB." and "CC." are the same: about an inch indented. This formatting
looks very bad.

There is no way to fix/adjust the indents with the ruler. There is nothing
showing on the ruler where the text is indented. The little things you slide
around and adjust are not lined up with the text at all. They are 3/4 of an
inch too far to the left.

If I click on the "Z." line, the little things you slide around are in the
correct places, and I could adjust the indentations, if I wanted to. But, I
need to adjust the "AA.", "BB." and "CC."

I wish I could attach a screenshot somehow. I hope I am describing this
sufficiently.
Is this just something that MS Word cannot handle, or should I use "A."
again after "Z.". Are there any English majors or technical writers out there
who can comment on this?

K: Try this:

Highlight (drag over) the whole section from "A" to "CC". Then adjust the
little sliding things on the ruler. I think you need to add a little bit of
space between the outline labels and the text. MS Word is just bumping "AA",
"BB" and "CC" over because the default spacing doesn't accomodate those
double letter labels.

I will look at the links you sent.
I was able to follow what Mr. "M" said to make the "AA", "BB" and "CC" line
up with the rest of the outline labels.

By the way, what do you call those little things on the ruler that you slide
around to adjust the alignment?

It's not a great idea to have 29 items on the same level of the
outline. Could they be divided into two or three or four or five
groups, so the outline is easier to follow?

BTW what happens when you simply set Outline, or Numbered Paragraph,
to use a-z, and just hit enter 26 times? What does Word automatically
give you after z?

They're called indent markers.
