Outline/group data below

Hi Group

Using excel 2007.

I want to make e group - outline - of rows.

Want to have a line with a number and some text

[+] 8 text here

when i click the [+] it turns to [-] and the group appears over the
line #8

I want to have the group apper below the line #8...

How do I do that?

Hi,

I am not clear on what you want. Could you show us some sample data?

In general the group and outline command can be done by selecting the rows
you want to group and choosing Data, Group, Rows. However the +/- reside on
the far left. If you want those icons in the spreadsheet you are going to
need to use a pivot table.

What I mean is..

I want to have row 9 to 15 hidden/collapsed in a outlined group.
the [+] sign is on row 16.

I want it on row 8.

Can it be done?

In xl2003 menus, I can use:
Data|Group and outline|Settings
and uncheck "Summary rows below detail"

I don't have xl2007 available, but I bet there's a similar option on the Data
tab in the Group section/group.

Hi,

took me a while also to figure out - here is how:
Below the Group-button is a line saying "Outline". Klick on the little arrow
on the bottom right - the you get the options...
