Outgoing SMTP settings

P

Pete

I'm trying to setup POP3 incoming /outgoing email
accounts in XP with MSN as the ISP. Where do I find the
SMTP / outgoing settings for MSN?

Hummm, I've been told by MS Support in the past that if
one had MS XP that you could configure Outlook to perform
this task...

grammar; your sentence doesn't make sense...

MSN doesn't support SMTP if you have a new account or ever accessed an older
one used a browser.

I don't think you want to go there.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the SWEN virus, all mail sent to my personal account will be deleted
without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer,
(e-mail address removed) asked:

you can configure Outlook 2002 and 2003 to access hotmail/msn - but using http
not pop/smtp. The question was 'what is the pop/smtp', not how to access it
using Outlook and other methods.

What part of "MSN doesn't support SMTP if you have a new account or ever
accessed an older one used (typo - was supposed to be "with") a browser" don't
you understand?
