Outbox is empty but keeps trying to send messages.

My Outlook Outbox does not show any messages (I deleted them after they
repeated would not "Send" -- a recurring problem on three different computers
using three different copies of Microsoft Outlook 2003.). But the program
keeps trying to send 2 messages. I do not know how to get it to stop doing
this.

Any help is appreciated.
