Set the refresh rate to 75Hz and see if that solves it.
It may be necessary to enter SafeMode in order to do this...

Press F8 once every second or two, after a cold boot. The black screen
with the SafeMode choice should appear. If Windows begins to load, you
have missed the opportunity.

Sounds like something may be trying to set the monitor frequency too high
when the computer is starting up - this is very unusual though.

Go to the Advanced Tab and Monitor and try hiding the modes that the monitor
cannot display. Does this hide the one you are using? If so try setting the
refresh rate lower and then back up just to see if that fixes it.

The other thing to be sure of is that you are not actuall using a refresh
rate for your screen resolution above the monitor recommeded highest value.

Boot to safe mode and set your refresh rate to standard or optimal or
similiar lingo.

Greetings --

If the only time you see this message is during a shutdown &
restart, all is well. The message is from your monitor, telling you
that it's not receiving a signal from the video adapter. During a
restart, this is to be expected, for a few brief seconds.

Have you changed video cards or video card drivers? Does the message
stay on a black screen or is it just momentary?

I messed up a video card installation and I got that message on a
black screen that stayed forever. I had to boot to safe mode and
change the drivers to standard generic VGA. Then I could boot normally
and install the correct drivers.

Regards and good luck, hawk
