Howdy guys, My sister has encountered a problem, someone has hijacked her
computer and used it to generate requests
to visit a phishing web site to gain yahoo e-mail id's and passwords, it's
since been shut down
The problem is this, she can no longer access yahoo web site, nor any of the
functions ie E-mail, on her desktop,
but she still can on her laptop, so I suspect this is an issue with the ip
address assigned to her desktop, she has
dial up, how can I help her in this, ie flush the current ip address and
gain another one, so she can access yahoo, on her FASTER desktop. unless I'm
missing the problem, I'm open to suggestions how to resolve this.
I'm pretty sure her pc is clean now.

Not really a Windows issue. Addresses are assigned by your dial-up ISP at
connection time.

Yes, I know it's a bit off topic, if someone can tell me how to flush the ip
info, that would be great.

Hmm, Dave gave you the answer (at least as far as flushing the IP
address is concerned, in his second sentence. Did you not get that far?

She may have something cached in the Browser. Open the Browser, select
Tools -> Internet Options and delete all cookies and files.

Cheers,

Cliff
