OT slightly - Firefix made into default browser

P

Paul Johnson

I recently downloaded Firefox and I like it sufficiently to make it my
default internet browser. BUT if I do that I want to be sure that I can make
IE my default again if I want to. At the moment I do not see how to do a
switch back. Can someone please enlighten me?
As a footnote, some years ago I had Netscape as my default browser, and I
did discover how to make IE my default at that time. Then later when I
wanted to switch back to Netscape I could not find out how. So you see I
want to know now before I make the move.

You can check in IE>TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>PROGRAMS...tick the box for
"internet explorer should check whether its the default browser".This
should bring up the default broswer dialouge for IE and allow you to
switch back.

All you have to do is start IE. It will ask you if you want to make it your
default browser if it's not. Firefox will do the same.

Unless of course these options have been disabled.

Thanks to all who answered. Shall proceed to make Firefox my default
browser.
