Today we started testing MBAM v1.46 beta. FYI

Is this a closed Beta (invite only), or, can anyone participate if they sign up ?

** I hope the MBAM folks are going to do something regarding the update file
sizes as folks are seeing some bloat as the update file sizes range @ ~ 4.2 Megs
several times per day, that adds up.

A typical AV engine, say, ESET's NOD32, has an update file size in the vicinity of
25 kilobytes, that's kilobytes.

v1.46 beta seems to work fine. Its improvements/fixes may interest
only a few though.

I'd say by invitation only. I believe you should log in to the MBAM
forum and ask if more beta testers are welcome. Your input would be
valued I'm sure.

On a dial-up, I agree. I seem to remember reading something coming up
for the near future. Keep your fingers crossed.

MBAM v1.46 beta improvements are:

1. Improved database loading speed by approximately 15%.
2. Drastically improved performance of Website Blocking on Windows
Vista and 7.
3. Fixed various scheduler compatibility issues on Windows 2000.
4. Fixed issue with quotations around paths passed to /logtofile and
/logtofolder.
5. Fixed issue with detecting certain leftover traces of an infection.
6. Fixed issue with freeze when adding a shared printer on the network.

This is not a huge update and seemingly no significant troubles showed
up. Perhaps they needed to get this out of the way before moving on
to larger undertakings.

The beauty of a smaller organization is the speed with which things
can be done.

The only thing I didn't like was the mandatory system reboot after
updating. But that's little price to pay...
