[OT] Packing a Desktop for Transport By Plane

I would like to carry my desktop computer to another location by plane. Does
anyone have any ideas about packing or carrying it? I don't think this is going
to work as a carry on. :) I do not have the original packing material, and it's
only the case that I need to take with me. I plan to have someone build a
special OS on the machine. I suppose minimally, I could take the mb, and a HD,
but that require too much time installing it in another case, and then removing
it. I don't plan to take a keyboard, mouse, or monitor. It' s very minimal
amount of hw on the machine. All the hw I need is built into the board.

Take it to a UPS (or any other shipping store) and have them bubble wrap
it, then double box it with heavy box stock. If you do this, it will be
secure.

I would take the system unit (not the motherboard, the system unit)
to one of those we-ship places, and have them pack it in a nice
sturdy shipping box with styrofoam peanuts. I can't imagine it
costing more than $20. Then take the box with you and check it as
luggage on the plane.
I called SWA and checked to see if would be insured. Nope. I'll use UPS.
