OT - How to read a JVSNIFF file

Hi,

I certainly know that this is Off Topic...
But, with some of the best minds that are in here...

I have captured network traffic to an .env file using JVSNIFF, and would love to
able to read the information. This is information trying to find the source of an
stray traffic. I am trying primarily to find the source I.P. and DNS of any unwanted
traffic onto this network system.

Thanks, and if anyone can tell me where to go to get software to be alerted in real
time of rogue traffic (in plain English) getting in.

Thanks you so very much in advance,
don

I would suggest using Ethereal. It can read various protocol decode files. It may
interpret the decode files in the ENV file. In any case you can use Ethereal to capture and
decode network protocols instead of using JVSNIFF.

A couple other good tools you may find useful are NMapWin and Angry IP
Scanner.
