OT: Bill Gates without XP SP2???

I know this is off topic but I had to say it out loud to someone... I just
saw Bill Gates on CNN where he said that his 8 year old daughter suffers
from the same problems on the PC as the rest of us. "Just the other day,"
he said, "She was browsing the internet, got a pop-up, and thought she had
won a contest. I had to explain to her that they were just trying to get
her to click on it."

Hmmmm... Makes you wonder. No SP2, huh?

Oh like he can't *afford* to get scammed once or twice...

Besides, he probably heard horror stories about SP2 installations :)

Or probably he meant to say "my 8 years old daughter suffers from the same problems on the PC as
YOU, 20/30/40/etc year old's... Damn, she's smart!"

Two possibilities:

1) He used "pop-up" as a generic term of any form of web page banner ad.
No uncommon, though he's usually more careful about tech terminology.

2) She hit upon one of those new fangled pop-up which figured out how to
get around blockers.

Yah maybe one of those over-the-page Flash animations with a Close button so
small, odds are you won't be able to see it, much less click it... so you
just wait for it to eventually shut itself down...

I wish Bill Gates would adopt me and put me in the will...

Or maybe HE simply disabled the IE popup blocker so he could visit
warez/porn pages and forgot to turn it back on.
