Hi Robin:

The only problem that some of us are running into when trying to install AVG
Free 9.0, is that during installation it gives an error message if ZoneAlarm
(Free edition in my case) is already installed, saying it conflicts with
AVG. The message further states that ZoneAlarm should be uninstalled before
installing AVG. I did this (and reactivated the Windows XP Firewall) and
there was no other problem installing AVG. I and others have posted this
problem to the AVG Forum and received replies that AVG techs are looking
into this matter. Their first thought was that there should not be a
conflict, so there is hope that a future update to AVG and/or ZoneAlarm will
allow the two security products to peacefully coexist.

Cheers,
Jerry

P.S. As I have previously posted here, AVG Free v8.x dramatically bogged
down my 7 year old PC (with an AMD XP 2200+ CPU), while AVG v9.0 allows my
system to run much faster, much like the older AVG Free v7.x.
