OS Problem: You cannot play

When I try to install an old program on my sons' old computer (which is
running Windows 2000 Professional) I get the following OS Problem error:

"You cannot play [game] on your OS Microsft Windows NT Workstation 5.0
service pack 4 (Build 2195)"

Which is weird because the OS is 2000 not NT. What gives?

The game (Monopoly Junior) seems to install ok but will not, as it says, play.

Hi there

Windows 2000 is really Windows NT 5.0. It's part of the NT family of
operating systems and is version 5.0. Windows XP is 5.1.

The following site shows that somebody else has reported the same issue with
that game.

That's not to say it won't run, though.

The Application Compatibility Toolkit can be used to fool an application
into thinking it's running on a different version of Windows. When the
application asks Windows which version it is, it will just report whatever
you tell it to that particular application.

If you do get it working, it would be good to report back to the site at
www.ntcompatible.com to say how you did it.

Win 2000 is NT5 .... and Win XP is NT5.1 .. hope that helps )
