You can't delete a partition from an OS running on that partition. Other
than that, I can't imagine what problems anyone could be having as its dead
simple to do. Run Windows XP setup and it will let you manipulate
partitions. Any Linux installer will let you manipulate the partitions.

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked "Have you
checked (event viewer / syslog)".

Just use Computer Management - Disk management(or something) in Control
panel - Administrative tools.
Or
Partition Magic 8.0

Note: You can't delete the MASTER partition the OS is currently
installed on. Use a Linux setup disk to do that or Windows XP
installation disk.
