OrcasBeta2 virtual PC

Hi,

I installed OrcasBeta2 with the Virtual PC package. After Windows
Server 2003 Enterprise Evaluation Copy SP2 expired and started
shutting me down after 2 hours I installed Windows Server 2003
Enterprise R2 SP2 from DISK2 of the installation DVD. Both logon and
properties of My Computer show Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2, but at the
lower right of the VPC screen I still see Windows Server 2003
Enterprise Evaluation Copy SP2 even though I activated and registered
R2 SP2; and I am still getting the 2 hour automatic logoffs of the
evaluation copy. Do I need to flush the VPC hard drive and install
from DISK1 of the DVD to get rid of the evaluation copy shutdowns?

Thanks,
lausivcid

Hello lausivcid,

it's a bug of VS 2008 VPC.
you need to download new one

It's the virtual PC itself which has expired - as far as I'm aware
there's no way of changing this.

Sure there is, you can upgrade the expiring OS to a full licensed version,
if you don't have such version available, you can grab the new VPC images
from

Willy.

I did upgrade to the fully licensed Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2,
including activating and registering; it doesn't look to me that
upgrading works. The bottom line appears to be to one way or
another make a completely new VPC image.

Worked for me in the past (this is something I always do after installing a
VPC), what where the exact issues you encountered?

Willy.
